1. Do a Deep Clean

Cleaning the exterior of your home is a great place to start. Not only is it quick, but it is an effective way to make your home look kept up, as well as to help you see what needs to be repaired.

Power washing your sidewalks, driveway, the exterior of your home, and windows is quick & will help wash away any dirt and grime that has built up. You can also “clean” your yard by making sure that grass is mowed, the weeds have been pulled and plants are pruned/trimmed.

2. Touch Up Paint

By touching up paint this is chipped, peeled, or bleached from the sun, you are sure to make your home level up. A fresh coat of paint can change a house’s exterior completely, without you needing to put in much other work.

In addition to increasing your home’s curb appeal, a fresh coat of paint will also help protect your home from weathering, rotting, and even pests.

3. Add Greenery

Adding more greenery to your home’s yard can make your home much more appealing to buyers. Put some flower pots on the porch, plant some small shrubs or flowers by the home’s edging, or make a flower bed in the yard.

Homes that have nice landscaping are more attractive to buyers because it shows that the homeowners care about their home and likely take good care of it, which is something that you want them to know! It will also help make your home feel like more of a home, rather than just a property.

4. Make Your Home Neutral

It is important to think about whether or not you have made your home appealing to a wider audience, or just to a select number of people with the same style as you. This means that although you might enjoy artistic and eclectic styles, not every buyer is going to find that appealing.

The best rule of thumb is to use neutral colors for paint and try to match the common trends for housing – rather than updating your home with funky and unique styles. Although this may be what some buyers are looking for, the majority of buyers want a home that is a clean slate that they can personalize, and this will help your home be attractive to a larger pool of potential buyers.
